lily pond - day 2

I only had half a day to paint today.  It is difficult to work from home, particularly on any form of art  -- it seems that people don't take the 'work' part as seriously as they take the 'home' part.  And on reflection I have to admit that sometimes 'people' includes me.  I could turn off or ignore the telephone.  I could allow the floors to remain un-swept for 7 more hours.  I could let the dog sit at the door instead of letting him out.  I could say "No, I will NOT host contractors, drive to doctor appointments, or run and pick up the missing ingredient for dinner!"  But I don't.  So some days I don't really do my work.

One day - hopefully sooner than later - I'll have a studio separate from the house, where telephones would be banned and dog hair will never make an appearance.

hi, I am new to your page, this painting is fabulous, I love water lilies and I really admire the way you use vivid colour, I am a photographer and usually my style is vivid, I am not much good at art, I do not have the patience although I have tried, looking forward to seeing more of your work
