Red Sky At Night

The newest painting, "Red Sky At Night"

She's a collage of hand-textured papers and was created in a many stage process of adding paint, sanding, adding paint, ragging, etc. I'm not nearly a master at this technique yet, but I am pleased with how she turned out. I am also working on a couple of hanging wood plaques for children's rooms:

Although I'm not looking forward to tomorrow when I begin training my temporary replacement, I know I can grin and get through it. I can fake it for three more days. It surprised me no end when my co-workers were shocked at my resignation. "But you were always so happy!" They would say - so many of them said that. "Always smiling, always sunny!" Well, at least I know I'm a good actress. :) Plus it's nicer to be remembered that way. I'm certainly glad that the gloom I felt on the inside didn't end up infecting anyone else.

It's a fitting send-off, really, since my new journey will include a good helping of the spiritual, the metaphysical... and the essence of that, for me, is that our thoughts have a direct effect on our lives and the lives of others. I'm very attracted to the theories of quantum physics, consciousness & the connectivity of all matter. I'm very excited to step into the first day of the rest of my life!
