Acrylic on 36" x 30" Wrapped Canvas
Still painting my little heart out for the "Goddesses of the County" show on August 21st. If it doesn't rain it should be a fantastic day! I'm finished the above, which WILL be dry for the show (at least one will... I'm getting nervous..)
Also in progress are several others. Mostly large scale florals but also a figural - a tribute to Mucha and in keeping with the theme and location of the show. It's being held at Casa Dea Estates winery which promises to be a gorgeous spot!
Also going on around me: teen angst, my spouse adjusting to his new job, a nasty run-in with our City's bylaw enforcement (funny how they can make you feel SO BAD for letting your dog cool off in the lake!!) and extended family drama. It's a lot of negativity all at once for a girl who is prone to the demons of depression. However, without the aid of drugs, I'm coping nicely.
I think following one's heart is the key.
I keep trying to tell my 16 year old that, but the one gift a parent can't give a child is perspective, no matter how badly we might like to.

They hear you , but may not act out on your advice right away. How we react to life, is how they end up reacting to life. Plus their general temperament of course. Very nice painting, take care, Gina
you're right ... as usual. :)
This one absolutely glows and radiates. Very well done.
Thanks! Love your pic.. reminds me of one of my favorite artists, Georgia O'Keefe.
I visited your blog and want to follow but something malfunctioned tonight. Will try again soon..
