My daughter went to a Spring Fair the other week and ended up babysitting a kid - a baby goat, that is - while the farmer set up its cage in a shadier location. Just look at how happy that interaction made her. Her friend snapped the photo and I think it's one of my favourites of her. One day I'm going to paint it, but for now I'll just share it here.

What was "HOBO4LIFE all about in my last post?
My husband and I joke all the time that I'm a hobo at heart. I don't like to stay still, don't deal with senseless rules very well and am not so good with structure of any sort. I like to try new things and then move on to the next 'new' thing which doesn't bode well for long term employment in rigid environments.
I've had close to 25 jobs in 24 years. Granted, a large handful of these were when I was a teenager. Some of them lasted only a day before I realized that I wasn't going to put up with them. I've had 3 small businesses, done creative or editing gigs over the internet, and I've renovated homes for resale in order to make money. I've sold vintage clothing, produced & sold gourmet Chai Tea, and opened and run a car wash.
I made the 'hobo4life' picture to commemorate my last day of working for the Federal Correctional Service of Canada and really to remind myself that I am who I am: King of the Road; I shouldn't fight it any more.
(p.s I hope I will not become a penniless vagabond, but I do see a long future for myself as an itinerant worker! - Both definitions of "hobo" according to Webster.)
Happy Friday!
